Officers Save Infant From Car After Mom Is Found Passed Out at Red Light

GREENE COUNTY... Deputies say they rescued an infant from the car of a woman found passed at a red light.

29-year-old Lacie L. Peterson is charged with child endangerment after Greene County Sheriff's Deputies say they find her unresponsive behind the wheel of her car with her 7-month old infant inside.

Green County Sheriff's Office says a witness called them after they saw Peterson make several traffic violations and then fall asleep, slumped over the steering wheel at a red light.

Once deputies made contact with the Peterson, they observed her to be impaired.

They also made the discovery of her 7-month-old son sitting unrestrained in an unsecured car seat.

The infant was released to a family member.

Lacie L. Peterson remains behind bars with a $10,000 bond.

The Sheriff's Office and Division of Family Services are still continuing to investigate this incident.
