PHILADELPHIA — Authorities say two school police officers were injured when they tried to break up a fight near Philadelphia's Northeast High School.
Philadelphia School District spokesman Francisco Gallard said some students were waiting at a bus stop near the Rhawnhurst school when they were confronted by a group of men.
Gallard said the two school police officers were patrolling the area saw what was happening and moved to intervene, and they were attacked.
Gallard said both were taken to Temple University Hospital, where one was treated for a broken jaw and the other for bruises and swelling to his ankle.
Gallard said there is video of the assault and the district "hopes these individuals get apprehended quickly."
